Thanks for your articles about check/download updates.

Say i have an application with 20 files, and during the next release i changed only 5 files. Is there any way to create an .msi which contains only the modified files ? (normally the new msi should have a smaller size than the previous release)

Hi louis,
I doubt it has something to do with WixUI_InstallMode (the app is not launched only when WixUI_InstallMode is set to “Remove”). It’s hard to say what went wrong, but I can take a look if you send me your wxs files.

Thanks for the great tutorial. Any tips for debugging?

I have some problems with Launch App when setup exits. My setup was able to lunch application. After adding your enhancements, however, it doesn’t work anywore. I’m not sure if there is something to with WixUI_InstallMode (since WiX is new to me).

Fantastic article, extremely useful for anybody getting started with WiX. This is an easier getting-started feature than the WiX getting-started docs.

You don’t specify which version of WiX you’re using… It’s clear to a regular WiX user that it’s 3.x, but a newbie might get stuck if he or she is working off of the 2.x binaries.
